What does CJ mean or stand for ?
A chief justice is the supreme judge of a court.His duties are to preside over cases as well as delegate duties to other judges,assign them courtrooms and also assign what types of cases they will preside over -These types of cases maybe testamentary matters,writ petitions,arbitration petitions,criminal cases,bail applications,civil suits etc.
The CJ is appointed by the chief minister of the state,the governor of the state or chosen among the judges themselves through a ballot.
