What does BONKERS mean or stand for?

BONKERS means going crazy – when we say – Im going BONKERS ! means im so excited  in a mad way.this could be sometimes a good kind of crazy – but could also be an “insane” or “drive me nuts” frustrating type of Bonkers.

Its like little Jimmy’s mom yelling – “Jimmy you’re driving me bonkers! please keep that plate down before you break it”.
